and events of the POW Camp in Peabody.\u00a0 The POW Camp #101 was opened as a tent camp south of Peabody in Sept 1943.\u00a0 The prisoners that would arrive were captured in Africa and were part of Rommel&#8217;s Brigade.\u00a0 There was a great need for farm workers and were welcomed by many.\u00a0 All were not happy with this developement.\u00a0 The camp was scheduled to emd but the Peabody group applied for extended time.\u00a0 It was to cold to leave the camp out in tents so a new place would need bo be approved.\u00a0 The Eyestone building in Peabody would fit the bill.\u00a0 The POW camp would remain until December of 1945.\u00a0 This was longer than most.\u00a0 There are many events and stories to
